F.A.Q. Frequently Asked Questions

If we are new to wrestling, can we start with your program?

We do our best to place wrestlers at the best possible level to aid in their success in the sport. Most K-12 athletes will have a spot within one of our programs, however depending on age and size it may be best to wait for the beginning of a session/season to start.

I heard your program is full, how do I get in?

Most of our Elite level teams are full however we do accept new members on a rolling basis and do maintain a waitlist. Our novice and intermediate programs more often have spots however they do fill up fast. Reach out to headhunterswc@gmail.com to see if there is an opening at the appropriate level team.

I wrestle for another team/club, can I join just during the off-season?

Yes, while we give priority for off-season spots to our in-season club members we do have spots available for training in the off-season for members of other teams. For the High School level, all of our club members practice with their High School team during the winter (in-season) and we offer occasional pop-up practices for that level. During the High School Winter Season our club is predominantly focused on the K-8th grade Junior League level.

Do you run year-round and what are the “Seasons”/Sessions?

Yes, we are a year-round wrestling club.

We typically break the year up into 3 “Sessions”.

Winter (In-Season): This runs from November – March and is focused on the K-8th grade wrestler (Junior League). We offer 3 levels during this period: Novice, Intermediate/Rec & Advanced/Elite. We will occasionally have pop-up practice for High Schoolers during this season as well as “Snow Day” practices for K-12. Those practices are done on a “drop-in” basis where you pay for each practice.

Spring / Summer: This session runs from March – August. We have a focus on Freestyle & Greco as well as Folkstyle during this Session. Grades K-12.

Fall (Pre-Season): This sessions runs from September – October and the focus is on Folkstyle only in preparation for the winter Seasons. Grades K-12.

What does it cost to join?

Our most competitive teams run approximately $150 per month for a full membership. Advanced Junior League is around $600. Intermediate Blue Team is $300 and Novice is usually $150 for the winter season. This usually does not include uniform or events but maybe include league matches if the team is in a league.

Do you offer “Adult” Wrestling?

No. We do allow current college wrestlers to join during the Off-Season.
